Honey
and the tradition of the Honeymoon or “Honeyed Moon” goes
back hundreds of years The word honeymoon has origins in
northern Europe where the tradition involved drinking mead,
a sweet wine made from fermented honey. The newlywed couple
drank the sweet wine for a month after the wedding in order
to bring good luck. Since a month was known as a “moon” the
period of time after the wedding became known as the
honeymoon. Today newlywed couples are still toasted with
Honey Wine.
We offer two Jersey Fresh Wildflower Honey favors:

light in color and mild in flavor, and comes from the
nectars the Honeybees collect during the Spring and early
Summer including Maple, Apple, Willow, Locust and Wild
Strawberry nectars.
Summer Wildflower
- which is amber
in color and is more robust in flavor and comes from the
nectars the Honeybees collect during the Summer including
Linden, Tulip and Crimson, White and Sweet Clover nectars. |
