| Hello. We're Ed & Mary Kosenski.
Our joint beekeeping experience began in 1997 when we moved to
Tinton Falls, NJ and purchased our first colony of bees. |
| Shortly after our move to Tinton
Falls, we had seen the Peter Fonda movie, Ulee's Gold, which is
about a beekeeper in Florida who pulls his troubled family back
together all the while he is collecting tupelo honey from his
bee hives. |
| The next day Ed called to say we
would be picking up our first beehive from a beekeeper in
Vineland, NJ. Since that first hive we have grown to 100 hives.
For the past seven years we have been working towards developing
a stronger honeybee using natural methods and by breeding
honeybee queens! |
| We are licensed from the New
Jersey Department of Agriculture to use the Jersey Fresh logo on
our New Jersey products. We offer an early season Jersey Fresh
wildflower honey called Spring Blossoms (April-June nectar), a
mid-summer Jersey Fresh wildflower honey called Summer Gardens
(June- July nectar) and a Jersey Fresh fall wildflower honey
called Red Bank Raw (August - October nectar). |
| We also offer several Jersey
Fresh varietal honeys; cranberry, blueberry and Dutch clover
honey. And since we are always listening to our customers we now
carry buckwheat, tupelo and orange blossom honeys. In addition
we now offer honey wedding favors and bridal shower favors. |
| Mary comes from an agricultural
family in which her father was a sideline beekeeper in Maryland
and Georgia. In addition early in her career while working at
the Beltsville Agriculture Research Center in Beltsville,
Maryland, Mary worked with bees. She carries on the family
tradition and then some since in addition to running the honey
side of E&M Gold she runs the beeswax side of E&M Gold
Beekeepers; creating beeswax wedding favors, formal beeswax
candles, beeswax figurine candles, beeswax plaques and beeswax
hand creams and beeswax lip balms. |
| We are active members of the New
Jersey Beekeepers Association (NJBA), the Central Jersey
Beekeepers Association (CJBA). We also belong to the American
Honey Producers Association (AHPA), the Northeast Organic
Farming Association (NOFA), and the National Honey Board (NHB).
In addition we give educational talks and presentations at
schools, associations and county fairs. |

Mission Statement |
| E&M Gold
Beekeepers, LLC is a family beekeeping business, which uses
natural methods to produce the best honey and beeswax
products. We actively select and develop naturally strong
honeybees that are resistant to disease and parasites
without the use of chemical treatments and strive by our
acts to decrease the honeybee crises. We impose on ourselves
an annual tax of one percent of our gross sales to encourage
the restoration and maintenance of the environment. We
consider ourselves to be an integral part of the communities
in which we live, the customers who we serve, the suppliers
we work with, and the beekeepers that we mentor. We aim to
become a thriving local and regionalized beekeeping
business, which produces high quality honey and beeswax
products. Our goal is to develop unique products and develop
specialized markets so that we have moderate growth and
annual profitability along with a growing loyal customer
base. |
